5 instant style upgrades.
Lauren Larsen
The thought of overhauling your entire wardrobe can be paralyzing (even if you have someone like me who is willing to do all of the hard work for you), I get it.
Here are a few ways to take your style to the next level without committing a lot of time, money or energy.
Take a couple pieces to a good tailor.
Having something professionally tailored can significantly change the look of a piece. Bring a jacket and a couple shirts to the tailor and see what a difference it makes. Be careful though, this may be the catalyst for an entirely new wardrobe.
Buy jeans that fit.
Having a pair of great raw denim jeans that fit properly will absolutely upgrade your style.
Here are a few options.
BALDWIN DENIM the henley slim jean
United Stock Dry Goods Narrow Fit Selvedge Jeans
Nudie Grim Tim Straight-Leg Denim Jeans, Dark Blue
Nudie Jeans 'Thin Finn' Skinny Fit Jeans
Invest in a pair of nice shoes.
You don't have to spend a fortune on shoes but I'd recommend getting a nice leather pair that has a durable sole. Make sure you condition the leather before wearing to lengthen the life of the shoe.
Accessorize.
Adding a couple accessories (think pocket square, nice watch, cufflinks, etc.) to your ensemble is a definite way to update your look.
Add a scarf.
It's winter, it's cold and a scarf is a great addition to your look. Ensure it is classy and tasteful and you're good to go. I like cashmere. ;)
Here are a couple nice options:
Theory Fabian Merino Scarf, Navy
The Rail Geometric Knit Scarf
Cashmere Silk Gauze Scarf • Helmut Lang
Anthime Mouley Herringbone Scarf with Grosgrain-Fringe • Lanvin
There you have it, a few different ways to update your current wardrobe.
Questions are always welcome!
