Wednesday Spotlight - Oliver Spencer
Lauren Larsen
Oliver Spencer is a man (and a brand) whose muse exists somewhere between the streets and an upscale Manhattan bourbon lounge. The man goes by Oli - he is a self-taught tailor and is the hands-on creative mind behind the brand.
Oli draws inspiration from hunting and the military. He adapts bits of Americana and ideas from Japan into his cool, English aesthetic. He admires Sandy Powell, costume designer for the Martin Scorsese movies Gangs of New York and The Aviator, as much as any fashion designer.
Oliver Spencer prides himself on designing and producing top quality clothing for men and women. The range is designed in London in the heart of Bloomsbury. There are three shops in London, two on Lambs Conduit Street and one on Berwick Street in Soho. Closer to home, there is a shop in Toronto.
To purchase Oliver Spencer goods here in Calgary, and to support a local business, check out Calgary's Understudy on 1st street SW, just below the Colours condo building!

To us, Oliver Spencer is the epitome of cool. Many of his clothes and accessories can transition easily from the office to the tavern and are unique enough to ensure you stand out amongst the regular crowd.
