Summer 2014 Essentials
Lauren Larsen
Summer is finally upon us and it is time to stock up on some essential summer gear! Continue reading for a selection of summer 2014 must-haves!
Patio Chillin'
Calgary is one of the most patio happy cities I've been to. The minute the sun comes out, we seek the nearest 17th Avenue patio and hang out on it for hours. Because this is such a staple activity in YYC, you might as well look like a babe.
For stylish patio chillin', we recommend...
Basic watch with matching brown sandals, Persol sunglasses, white linen button-up tee, floral shorts and a Pimm's Cup!
Music Festival Roamin'
Between Death Cab for Cutie at X Fest and Amos Lee at the Calgary Folk Festival, there are many great reasons to check out local festivals and ample opportunity to get your music festival fix while staying right here in YYC. Because festivals are generally outdoors... and the summer is generally hot, we'd recommend the following...
Bring a backpack to carry a waterproof jacket (incase it rains) a water bottle and sunscreen.
Camping With Friends
Exploring the Rockies on long weekends is definitely a Calgary favourite. Because we are talking camping and not glamping, we'd recommend keeping it casual, easy and just a tad bit stylish.
Bocce Ball, Levi's jeans, Birkenstock sandals and a waterproof jacket are camping musts!
Boating
Now, for those Calgarians who are lucky enough who have or know someone who has a boat, this section is for you! Grab your board shorts, a beer and a couple of the other items displayed below and you will be in for an awesome time!
Sperry Topsider's are our favourite for summer casual shoes. Shirt and shorts are from (possibly the coolest surf/coffee shop on the planet) Saturdays Surf NYC.
Saturdays Surf back patio!
There you have it, a few different looks for basically anything the summer can throw your way. If you have any questions or would like us to help put some looks together for your summer plans, drop us a line!
