Oh. my. gosh, it is almost Christmas! I can't even believe how fast these past couples of months have flown by - it literally feels like summer was only a couple of weeks ago.
I recently wrote a guest post for a couple of my fave babes here in Calgary (www.simplyglamgirls.com) and decided that I would post here as well, just in case I have a few people looking for last minute gift ideas for their guys!

This season's hot jacket colour - camel. Sure it may not be as versatile as a black or grey top coat, but it is getting more and more attention, and certainly turns more heads. If you're one of the guys who is digging the camel this season, or if you're wondering how and if you can wear it both professionally and casually, this blog is for you {and perhaps it will inspire you to go out and get one for yourself}.

Fragrance - it's one of those things that can make or break your first impression. All girls appreciate a guy who smells good, but sometimes your version of 'good' and her version of 'good' don't necessarily align. I'm talking about those insanely powerful, overbearing, Axe-style, gym locker smelling colognes that fill every room you enter with unwanted manliness (I'm sorry if you're a girl reading this and like those smells, because I'm about to steer guys far, far away from them).

It’s a yearly event, that morning when it dawns on us that the weather has changed, and we’ve entered the inevitable winter season. The frost on the ground, the chill in the air, and the visible breath that sets off the same familiar response – it is time to start layering up. The topcoats come out, we check our sweater collection to ensure we have enough to last the season, and we hit the stores in search of toques, gloves, and those chunky plastic shoe covers.

As a menswear stylist, one of my biggest challenges has always been suit shopping for my clients. It was nearly impossible to find something that would fit perfectly off-the-rack, and even if I was able to find something that was acceptable, majority of the time many alterations would have to be made to make it fit properly. This added extra costs to the already high price of the suit, and was frustrating for the guys who had to pay for it. It didn’t take me long to realize that custom suiting is the way to go for most men.

I don't often post reviews of products, unless I am completely and utterly blown away (the last one was months ago when I featured the Taylor Stitch Wayfaring Jacket), so get ready because you're going to fall hard for this newly discovered brand of handmade {in Como, Italy... just saying} ties, bowties and pocket squares.

Is it just me or is this summer one of the best we've had in a while? It could be me, because this is the first in a long time I'm not cooped up in an office (sorry, not sorry), or it truly could just be the best yet. I mean, we do have to consider the 2015 Calgary Tornado that really took it's toll on the city #wewillrebuild, but besides that, the sun has been out, the days have been hot, and many of us have been enjoying the rivers, lakes, mountains, golf courses, festivals and local events to their fullest {I know I have}.

As men's NYFW wraps up, I've been perusing the interweb on the hunt for awesome street style photos - because a lot of the time, the style on the streets is even more inspiring than the style on the runway.

It's that time of year again! This weekend kicks off the Calgary Stampede, and I'm sure all of you cowboys {or once a year cowboys} are prepping for a long 10 days of debauchery. Because stampede style mostly consists of plaid, denim and cowboy hats, it is arguable difficult to mess up, but believe me, I've seen it all and this blog is intended to help you avoid being the guy who didn't throw together your stampede ensemble quite right.

Summer is here! The days are longer, the nights are shorter and the sun is creating wonderful glows {or in my case, freckles} on all of our bodies. To be honest, as I write this, I am sitting outside accumulating freckles, and loving every minute of it.

The way I see this is, never dress better than your boss, BUT dress for the job you want, not the job you have. SO, what if you want your bosses job? Well, you have to be careful. You can't threaten your boss with your attire, but you certainly should dress better than the people who one day you'd like to manage.

Cotton twill trousers (CTT), commonly referred to as chinos (but we prefer the former to the latter because it just sounds that much smarter), are this season’s must have alternative to denim. Because of the versatile fabric, CTTs are available in [almost] every colour and pattern under the sun. If you’re a neutrals guy, you’re covered… if you’re into prints and bold patterns, no problem.

The first date is always the hardest to nail down. You’re not sure if she is smiling at you or at the person behind you… her vibes are hard to read and what if she has a boyfriend? What if she flat out says no? There are so many things that will inevitably go through your head before you ask her for her contact info.

I don't normally write posts exclusively about specific brands {unless you scroll back yonder to when I was doing brand spotlight's} but, I recently stumbled over the brand Taylor Stitch and fell lustfully in love with their garments. One in particular... the wayfaring jacket, and I felt the need to share!

Spring is in the air, almost, and before it hits us in full swing, we need to take a look at our closets to ensure our wardrobes are as prepared as we are for the warmer weather.
Each gentleman should have the appropriate number of transitional and weather appropriate pieces in his wardrobe to ensure readiness for all spring occasions, like when your buddy calls with that last minute BBQ invite.

So, you hit it off with her on your first, second and third dates, and this (might) be the night she comes back to your place. You've hired a cleaner, your toilet seat is down, you've stocked up on the wine but you still aren't sure if your pad will be given the female stamp of approval (because that is something that is hard to get).

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine that ended up being the inspiration for this post. Picture this, you met a girl at a bar, sporting event, house party, dinner, whatever it was, and you hit it off. There was instant chemistry, sparks were flying, and before she left, she gave you her number.
